What new update is WhatsApp rolling out for iOS users?
WhatsApp camera to have a feature to apply AR effects, backgrounds, and filters during video calls
WhatsApp has launched a new camera update for iOS users, now available for some users.
In its new update, the camera will have a feature to apply AR effects, backgrounds, and filters to camera settings.
Some users of the messaging app can explore a new button to enable augmented reality effects, backgrounds and filters directly from the camera.
Users can access new features by opening the camera and tapping the “wand” icon to use these effects.
Once that is out of the way, users can apply animated effects like confetti or stars that appear on the screen.
They can also use this feature to alter facial expressions and change the colour tones of their videos from a wide variety of hues.
There is also a “Touch Up Mode” which polishes facial appearance and smooths skin tones. It also removes minor imperfections allowing users to look fresh and their best in video calls.
The “Low Light Mode” in this new update is a feature that automatically adjusts brightness and contrast to improve visibility in dimly-lit settings.
This update is only available to a select few beta testers and can be downloaded through the iOS App Store.
