Tory Lanez has slammed harassment claims filed by Megan Thee Stallion after she requested for restraining orders against him.
For the unversed, 29-year-old Megan, on December 17, requested a temporary restraining order against Tory over shooting incident in 2020.
Now as reported by PEOPLE, the 32-year-old singer in his court documents, filed on Friday he has slammed the harassment claims as “ridiculous”.
The rapper cited the California Code of Civil Procedure S. 527, which “prohibits courts from issuing restraining orders that restrict constitutionally protected speech”, in short the statute ensures restraining order”.
The Lady of Namek hitmaker also claimed that the TRO is not necessary, explaining that he does not have possession of firearm and is unable to leave his current residence.
Moreover, Tory alleged that Megan “improperly decided to use the Los Angeles County civil court to file a frivolous request for civil harassment restraining order against Daystar Peterson, who has had zero direct contact with Ms. Pete”.
According to his filing, “when celebrity with millions of dollars and backed by large corporation disagrees with free speech or opinions, they weaponize the justice system”.
Tony further stated, “Failing to understand that they are public figures, who voluntarily catapulted themselves into the limelight, unable to deal with the controversy and public opinions.”
In 2020, the rapper shot Megan in the feet during a party. He was later convicted of three felony charges.
Last year in August, Lanez was notably sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was found guilty in Megan’s case.
