Season two of the hit series Squid Game just came out on Netflix, and fans were shocked to discover the age-gap between the actors behind two new characters.

Singer and actress Jo Yuri plays the role of a young pregnant woman, Jun Hee, while actor Im Si Wan plays a bankrupt crypto-influencer, Lee Myung Gi.

The two are linked together romantically before the events of the show, and Im Si Wan’s character attempts to win the former back throughout the season.

Viewers were intrigued by the relationship, as it is revealed that Jun Hee had become a victim to Myung Gi’s crypto scheme and had lost all her money as a consequence.

Another source of conflict for the ex-couple is that Myung Gi had abandoned Jun Hee after he lost his money in his own scheme, leaving her pregnant and penniless with their unborn child.

After fans began to research the actors behind the pair, they were taken aback to find out that Im Si Wan is 13 years older than Jo Yuri.

One user wrote on TheQoo, “Jo Yu Ri doesn’t suit that role at all… It just feels like a big brother and the youngest sibling dynamic,” while another added, “I know both Im Si Wan and Jo Yu Ri’s ages, but why didn’t I feel like there was that much of an age difference?”

Some expressed their astonishment while others claimed that they had not noticed the major difference in age when watching the series.
