‘Sonic The Hedgehog 4’ gets confirmed with release date

A Sonic The Hedgehog 4 movie has been announced and will bow in theaters in 2027.

This comes right as Sonic The Hedgehog 3 hits theaters on December 20.

The third installment of Sonic sees the titular character (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) and Knuckles (Idris Elba) reluctantly join hands with villain Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) to combat Keanu Reeves’ antagonist Shadow The Hedgehog.

Plot details for the fourth installment are under wraps for now.

Meanwhile, Sonic star Carrey recently explained why he reprised his role in the franchise after saying he’d take a break after the second movie.

When asked about his comments from 2022, he said: “That might have been hyperbole.”

The Mask star told Access Hollywood in 2022 after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2: “Well, I’m retiring. Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious. It depends.
