On Wednesday, 1st April 2020, Pakistan has extended the period of lockdown and also extended its closure on international flights-as a coronavirus caution- several citizens stuck in different parts of the world. Pakistani film director- Shamoon Abbasi & Mohib Mirza among others stuck in Thailand and they wanted to return back to Pakistan but due to the suspension of flights, they are unable to come to Pakistan.
While talking with Geo News, Shamoon Abbasi said, they had got information that flights would resume on 4th April and that’s why they didn’t involve the media in this matter.
He further said that he had arrived in Thailand in the mid of February and the situation was not bad at that time. Since then the circumstances have worsened.
He also said that he was aware of the closure of flights in Pakistan on 21st March and his flight was just after a few days of it.
Adding that the Pakistani embassy has no idea of when to resume the flights due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
While Mohib Mirza said that they are stuck along with others including Sanam Saeed, Imam Syed, Sara Loren, and the entire team.
He also requested the government to arrange a special flight to Thailand for their return.
