Robbie Williams talks about similarities between ‘Better Man’ and ‘therapy’
Robbie Williams is set to appear in his own biopic ‘Better Man’ on December 25, 2024
Robbie Williams recently compared his upcoming semi-biographical film Better Man to “therapy”.
Talking to Digital Spy, Williams said, “People walk up to me after the screenings and there are floods of tears and they commend me on my bravery which I don’t get at all, but thank you.”
He continued, “I know that this is, separate to all of the commercial reasons, therapy.”
“I also know because I’ve witnessed it in some sort of way, it does some sort of healing, which is also great,” Williams added.
Earlier in an interview with One Show, the famous 90s singer uncovered the reason behind the unusual casting choice to play his character in his biopic, revealing that “it was the idea of writer-director Michael Gracey”.
“I love eccentricity and I love unusual and I love surreal – and it made complete sense to me as soon as he pitched it to me,” the singer said.
Directed by The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey, Better Man is based on the rise, fall and resurgence of Williams.
However, the pop singer’s role has been portrayed as a chimpanzee using a CGI, which was performed by Jonno Davies using motion capture.
Robbie William starrer Better Man is scheduled to release on December 25, 2024.
