Remembering Benazir Bhutto on her 69th Birth Anniversary
Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto lived a legendary life. She became the first female Prime Minister in a Muslim-majority country, as well as Pakistan’s second nationally elected Prime Minister.
Benazir Bhutto struggled, sacrificed, and never gave up against the worst dictatorship of General Zia and subsequent anti-establishment governments. Despite death threats, arrest, and character assassination Benazir never gave up, she was fearless.
Bhutto’s journey of life is worthy to be written in golden letters for the generations. Following her 69th birth anniversary chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto pens down a note for his mother and wished her by posting several snapshots of the mother-son duo.
On the longest day of the year, we remember Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on what would have been her 69th Birthday. She fought for 30+ years for the restoration of democracy, economic emancipation of the poor and for the peaceful message of Islam. 1/2 #HappyBirthdaySMBB pic.twitter.com/7dbNi0OZcw

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also pays tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in a tweet. He wrote, “I pay my rich tributes to Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto on her 69th birthday.”
“Our democracy is poorer without her & the void left by her martyrdom will never be filled. She fearlessly & staunchly advocated the causes she believed in. May Allah rest her soul in peace”
