Bollywood’s eminent actress, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is a global icon and has joined the virtual mega-concert, One World: Together At Home, lead by Lady Gaga, that brought together the world with the big names of pop culture.
The actress addressed the entire world, highlighted the issue of the refugee camps and how the coronavirus can be reduced in those areas where people are already deprived of resources.
In her speech, she said, “there’s no question raised about the impact of deadly coronavirus has had across the world. It’s been incredible for all of us. But for the 70 million people who are in camps and shelters around the globe, including facilities in the US, that impact is devastating.”
She further went on to say that she is witnessed first hand some of the overcrowded & unbelievable conditions in refugee camps. Social distancing is not an option. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there’s a need to provide basic facilities including healthcare, clean water, and sanitization.
