Prince George takes on new role as he joins Prince William for Christmas tradition

Prince George seems to have officially taken the place of his uncle, Prince Harry, as he joins his father, Prince William, for a pre-Christmas football match.

The father-son duo re-started the tradition after a few years as they joined forces for the friendly game between Sandringham estate workers and villagers.

A royal source told The Sun that the little Prince has seemingly taken on a new role, previously held by his Harry, as he marked a heartwarming return to the family tradition.

“It was interesting to see that Harry has now been substituted for Prince George,” a royal insider told the publication.

Sharing insights into the game, the insider said William nearly scored with George showing great enthusiasm, while Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte cheered for them.

“There were other children playing and it was all good fun and light-hearted. It is nice that they have returned to take part in the traditional game as they haven’t done so for years,” they added.
