‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight makes major announcement
Filmmaker Steven Knight spills the beans on fate of ‘Peaky Blinders’ franchise
BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders won’t be ending after the forthcoming Netflix movie.
Peaky Blinder creator Steven Knight made the revelation in an interview with Times Radio on Saturday.
“Well, it’s interesting you should ask that question because the film is coming out and that won’t be the end,” he told the outlet in response to the fate of the gangster franchise.
“It won’t be the end, let me put it that way. I’m not saying none of it,” Knight added.
The recent development comes as filming wrapped on the upcoming movie—written by Knight and directed by Tom Harper, who helmed three episodes of the show.
The director also confirmed that the movie will be released in “about a year”.
While there is no confirmation on an official release date, Peaky Blinders fans will be seeing Cillian Murphy reprise his role as Tommy Shelby, alongside a supporting cast starring Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, and Tim Roth.
Knight also called the film—set during World War II—”an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story.”
“No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war,” he remarked.
Recently, Knights also hinted at a “new generation” show with a new set of characters.
