Pamela Anderson, known for her iconic roles and beauty, recently got candid and revealed why she went makeup-free in her latest project, The Last Showgirl.

Speaking to People magazine, the 57-year-old Hollywood star explained why her character, Shelly, in The Last Showgirl, did not wear makeup most of the time.

She shared, “I wanted to just see how Shelly would be if she’s going to the grocery store. I just wanted it to be raw and real, and I was ready for that and prepared for that and excited about that.”

Anderson went on to mention that while getting ready to film, she used to stay away from the mirror each day, saying, “I didn’t want that to be in my head at all about the way that I looked, unless it was in the showgirl mirrors [in the movie].”

Moving forward, the Baywatch actress confessed that she had been craving an opportunity to depict a role like Shelly’s for a long time.

For the unversed, the director, Gia Cappola, found Anderson’s son, Brandon, to get her the script after the actress’s agent turned down the movie without telling her.

Shedding light on the show’s script, the Naked Gun star noted, “I read it, and I just knew I had to do it. It was very exciting. And I also changed agencies.”

The mother of two quipped, “I didn’t have a real strong agent or anyone with any vision or belief in me. Now I do, but only because I did The Last Showgirl. You have to get a project that you can sink your teeth into to show people that you’re more than where you’ve been pigeonholed.”

“And I just didn’t think it was ever going to happen. And I felt like, ‘Boy, I really blew it,’” Anderson concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that The Last Showgirl had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2024, and was later released in the United States on December 13, 2024.
