Nicki Minaj has responded to an assault and battery lawsuit filed against her by a former manager.

According to Variety, the 42-year-old rapper’s team has slammed the claims made by an ex-assistant, Brandon Garrett, as “false and frivolous”.

In a complaint filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Garrett claimed that he was “struck” by the Super Freaky Girl hitmaker, during her Pink Friday 2 tour in Detroit, back in 2023.

The alleged altercation took place in Minaj’s dressing room, over an errand that he was supposed to run.

Things escalated quickly when angry Minaj upon not being answered properly by Garrett, ended up slapping him, according to the filing.

The lawsuit further states that her former manager then later after landing in Chicago, filed a police report against Nicki Minaj and requested cops to escort back to his hotel “because he feared for his safety”.

Now, the Barbie World rapper’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, while denying the claims, told publication that “no complaint has been served upon his client and therefore, they are unaware of the specific allegations.

“However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous,” said the lawyer, adding that the team is “confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly” in Minaj’s favour.
