Nicholas Hoult faces worst ‘fear’ on shooting set

For his film Nosferatu, Nicholas Hoult faced a “fear” he probably never went through before.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he recalled a scene in the horror drama where his character Thomas Hutter had to escape from wolves chasing him.

“I’m, like, running on the spot and getting hyped up before the take,” the Warm Bodies star remembered. “And they’re being held back from me on leashes — barking, like, with death in their eyes. They want to eat.”

Before sharing the dreadful situation, Nicholas shared he previously faced the feeling of fear internally – however – at the time of shooting the scene, he said he felt “real fear,” which was visible on his face.

The shot he gave, the Superman star recalled, was dismissed by the director because he made a silly face as wolves were “let loose” after him.

Following the shooting of the scene, Nicholas said he asked someone on the set what would happen if he was unable to escape from the wolves.

“Like, I don’t know what happens if I don’t make it out of the window,” he recounted. “Like, what are they then trained to do?”

Nosferatu is running in theaters.
