Meghan Markle Netflix show faces backlash after Instagram block
Instagram labelled the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix show hashtag as ‘sensitive content’
Meghan Markle has once again found herself at the center of controversy, but this time it appears to be a mistake.
Instagram has sparked a stir after mistakenly blocking the hashtag #WithLoveMeghan, linked to the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.
Upon searching for the hashtag the warning message appeared stating that the results had been hidden due to “sensitive content,” as reported by MailOnline.
The message read, “We think the your search might be associated with child sexual abuse.”
After users pointed out the issue, Instagram quickly removed the warning and issued a clarification.
A Meta spokesperson explained the issue to FEMAIL, stating, “We block people’s ability to search for terms related to possible child safety risks. In this case, the search term was restricted by mistake and has now been fixed.”
However, the issue has now been resolved according to the outlet and the hashtag is now functioning correctly on Instagram.
This comes after Netflix dropped a teaser for Meghan’s upcoming With Love, Meghan, set to premiere on January 15, 2025.
