Max George releases statement about his major heart surgery

Max George revealed on Sunday that he will imminently undergo emergency heart surgery after spending a week in the hospital due to a 2:1 atrioventricular block.

The Wanted star, who is awaiting a pacemaker, shared the update from his hospital bed on Instagram, admitting that he “feels like s***” but is staying hopeful.

According to Daily Mail, atrioventricular block is a condition that disrupts the electrical impulses controlling the heart’s rhythm.

Moreover, Max’s heart rate has failed to stabilize despite monitoring, prompting doctors to expedite the surgery.

In a candid Instagram post, the actor addressed his followers by saying, “Just prepping for the operation now. Fingers crossed.”

Additionally, he also expressed gratitude for the support of his loved ones, including girlfriend Maisie Smith, who has been juggling her commitments to be by his side.

Furthermore, Max previously revealed the cause of his condition remains a mystery, but doctors have ruled out alcohol, as he has been sober for over four years.
