‘Winter House’ star fires back at critics accusing her of taking advantage of her pregnancy
The star of Summer House, Lindsay Hubbard, recently clapped back at critics accusing her of cashing in on her pregnancy.
For the unversed, the 38-year-old TV personality welcomed her first child with her boyfriend, Dr. Turner Kufe, earlier this month.
The couple named their baby girl Gemma Britt Kufe.
Recently appearing on Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast, Hubbard opened up about people criticising her for making money from posts about her motherhood journey.
Articulating her thoughts, the Winter House star said some followers were “very torn up” because she did a sponsored post to announce her pregnancy.
Hubbard reflected on her decision and quipped, “They were like, ‘I can’t believe she monetized her pregnancy announcement.’”
“And it’s like, ‘Why not? I’m gonna make the announcement anyway, why not make money from it?’” she added.
The budding star went on to say, “I used Clearblue; I used the digital test – that was the test I used back in April when I found out I was pregnant.”
“So why not go to them and say, ‘Hey, I used your test, I’m about to announce my pregnancy, do you want to sponsor this?’”
“This is how I make my money. I’m not doing PR anymore; I’m not sitting behind a desk,” Hubbard concluded by mentioning.
Notably, she earned $28,000 for the sponsored pregnancy post, calling it her biggest brand deal so far.
