King Charles sends Prince Edward to US with key task

King Charles has seemingly assigned his younger brother Prince Edward a new major role to represent British royal family.
According to a report by the Daily Express, Prince Edward is set to travel to the US this week to attend the state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter on Thursday.
Earlier, it was reported King Charles and his elder son Prince William would not be in attendance at Jimmy Carter state funeral, with the Duke of Edinburgh now confirmed to be representing the British Royal Family.
Meanwhile, in a statement King Charles had paid touching tribute to the former US president.
Palace released a statement which reads, “It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of President Carter.
“He was a committed public servant, and devoted his life to promoting peace and human rights.”
King Charles continued, “His dedication and humility served as an inspiration to many, and I remember with great fondness his visit to the United Kingdom in 1977.”
The monarch went on saying, “My thoughts and prayers are with President Carter’s family and the American people at this time.”
Jimmy Carter, the 100-year-old former US president and Nobel peace laureate who rose from humble beginnings in rural Georgia to lead the nation from 1977 to 1981, died on December 29.
