King Charles has taken a surprising decision by shaking up years-old Royal tradition.

The monarch is said to have chosen a unique location to deliver his annual Christmas message as he has opted for a former hospital chapel instead of filming the message at a royal estate.

Charles, who has been battling cancer since the start of this year, selected Fitzrovia Chapel in London, after he was “enchanted” by the stunning chapel, reported The Sun.

Royal sources told the publication that the beauty of the chapel and its connection to healthcare resonated with Charles and hence he took the decision to ditch the Royal tradition.

The outlet revealed the King will reflect on the past year which brought many hardships for him and his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton in the form of cancer.

“The King wanted to do things a bit differently this year and reach out into the community rather than just in the royal estates, which is a key theme of his work,” the source said.

“It seemed logical it must have some healthcare connection, it had to be a community space there to bring communities together, that it was suitably beautiful and festive, and have a royal connection, and be in easy reach of Buckingham Palace,” they added.

“He loved the pictures and loved the story behind it and loved the place when he got there. He was completely enchanted.”
