Kelly Rowland issues warning about online scammers
Kelly Rowland exposes scammer impersonating her and Beyonce
Kelly Rowland has warned fans of online scam.
Rowland recently discovered that someone created a fake Instagram account pretending to be her and Beyonce. The user scams fans by asking them for money.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Friday, Rowland shared a screenshot of a message where the user stated, “Hey this is Kelly from Destiny’s Child, I lost my credit card and I need money for a plain [sic] ticket so I can fly to your city to perform.”
It further read, “can you send me money? I’ll bring Beyonce.” However, in the next message the user stated, “Hello this is Beyonce.”
Rowland warned fans saying, “be careful out here! FAKE AF!!” she hilariously added, “And don’t you think I know how to spell P-L-A-N-E!”
It is worth mentioning that this comes after Rowland and Beyonce showed their support for their friend and fellow former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams at Death Becomes Her opening night on Broadway.
“It was an absolute joy having them there because I know they’re fans of the movie. Kelly was just like, ‘Wait a minute. How is she going to have the hole in her stomach?’ I said, ‘You have to come see the show. You got to come see it.’” Williams told the outlet.
