Kacey Musgraves calls pet dog, Pearl ‘a blessing’

Kacey Musgraves just shared sentiments of grief for her dog, Pearl.

The popular country music star, who went to Texas to visit her family for the holiday, shared pictures of her pet dog, informing her fans how her little furry friend is nearing her final days.

“Been sad over here pre-grieving the loss of my Pearl Girl the last couple of days,” the Happy & Sad singer wrote in her lengthy tribute.

The seven-time Grammy award winning singer has had Pearl as her pet for 15 years, who is now “still hanging on, but is very near the end.”

“She came to me the day after my 21st bday and has seen me thru so many chapters,” Musgraves continued.

Noting after how the little dog lost her limb too, the singer’s parents took Pearl in to look after since “she was no longer suited for the road life.”

“They have loved her completely as their own,” Musgraves said of her mother and father’s relationship with Pearl. “My dad especially took a liking to her. She’s his best friend.”

“The bond we form with these creatures is a blessing..but a ticking time bomb,” Kacey Musgraves added, further noting, “An inevitable continuous deposit into a bank of future sadness. So painful but so worth it.”
