Jonathan Majors’ ‘Magazine Dream’ secures March 2025 theatrical release
Jonathan Majors’ new film ‘Magazine Dream’ gets the theatrical release date after legal controversy with ex girlfriend Grace Jabbari
The bodybuilding drama Magazine Dream, starring Jonathan Majors, has been scheduled for a theatrical release on March 21, 2025, according to Briarcliff Entertainment.
The film’s release came after being previously dropped following Majors’ conviction for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Moreover, Briarcliff Entertainment confirmed the date on Wednesday, with CEO Tom Ortenberg announcing plans for a “robust” theatrical release in the first quarter of 2025.
Written and directed by Elijah Bynum, the film garnered critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023, where it was seen as a potential awards contender.
According to Daily Mail, the film’s trajectory changed dramatically after Majors’ arrest in March 2023 as Jabbari accused the actor of assaulting her during an altercation in a chauffeured car, leading to Majors’ conviction in December 2023 on one misdemeanor assault charge and a harassment violation.
Moreover, Majors maintained his innocence but was dropped by Marvel Studio and other major projects following the conviction.
Additionally, after Searchlight Pictures returned distribution rights to the film in early 2024, Briarcliff Entertainment acquired them in October.
As per the publication, director Bynum expressed gratitude for the distributor’s support by saying, “Dozens of incredibly talented people poured their time, energy, and creativity into bringing this film to life, and I am immensely proud of their work.”
Furthermore, in Magazine Dreams, Majors stars as Killian Maddox, an aspiring bodybuilder grappling with rage and trauma.
As far as the film is concerned, it features an ensemble cast including Harrison Page, Harriet Sansom Harris, Taylour Paige, Haley Bennett, and Michael O’Hearn.
