Jennifer Lopez claps back at a comment about her becoming old
Jennifer Lopez has started her career from an American comedy sketch ‘Living Colour’ in 1991
Jennifer Lopez has been in the Hollywood industry for more than three decades.
During a conversation with Variety‘s Clayton Davis, she candidly explained how each movie’s character plays an important role in her life, and also responded to claims about her age.
At the time, the host reflected upon Jlo’s character in the biographic movie Selena of 1997, which was about an American singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez.
“I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since Selena,” Davis noted. “I can’t believe that in 30 years we’re going to do a retrospective of this, and you will be 60 by then, which is…”
To this, the 55-year-old actress responded by saying “Wow” but the host clarified that was the joke and asked about her “getting up there” in age.
However, Lopez thanked her fans for being with her for a “long time” and continued, “I honestly feel that the best is yet to come. I honestly feel that my creativity and who I am as an artist is like you said…”
While promoting her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s produced movie Unstoppable, she also said, “I also feel that this [movie] for me was another level for me, of going deeper into who I am as a person and as an artist.”
“These types of roles change you in a way when you allow them to because they come to you at times in your life when you need them. And they help you grow and heal you in a way.”
Before concluding, the On The Floor singer shared, “And if you can let yourself be vulnerable enough and real enough to show your flaws and to really expose yourself in a way as an artist, that is a gift you really want.”
For those unversed, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck tied the knot in 2022, after two decades of on-and-off relationship. Later, the couple parted ways in 2024.
