Jennifer Lawrence glad Kristen Stewart landed role for ‘Twilight’
Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for the role of Bella Swan that Kristen Stewart got later on
Kristen Stewart made her mark in the industry after starring as Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise.
As the popular book series was already a success by the time its adaptation was announced, it was given that many actresses would line up to audition for the role of the lead given how beloved and popular the character of Bella was.
According to Just Jared, there were particularly four actresses who were in competition with Kristen Stewart, who in the end, got the part.
Amongst those competitors, Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence was also one, but was then ultimately glad that she wasn’t selected for the role.
“I remember when the movie first came out, seeing Kristen Stewart on the red carpet and getting papped wherever she went,” the Sliver Linings Playbook star told The Guardian.
She continued, “I had no idea Twilight would be such a big deal. For me, and assuming for her, it was just another audition. Then it turned into this whole other thing.”
Admitting that she was “glad” she didn’t land the role of Twilight’s Bella Swan, recently looking back on her audition, Lawrence realized she was “immediately” turned down and “didn’t even get a callback.”
