Jamie Lee Curtis is reportedly considered to play Jessica Fletcher in an upcoming Murder, She Wrote movie adaptation.

The iconic role was originally played by Angela Lansbury in the series, which ran for 12 seasons until 1996.

However, now Curtis, who is known for her roles in Halloween, Knives Out and more is the top choice for the movie adaptation.

According to a report by Deadline, Universal Pictures has considered her for the lead role.

It is worth mentioning that there is no official deal confirmed neither the representative of Universal and Curtis’ team has responded.

Curtis, who is no stranger to the thriller genre, told PEOPLE magazine in 2022 that she planned not to do horror anymore.

“After Halloween II (and The Fog and Prom Night), I said I wouldn’t do any more horror. And yet … the first job I did next was a true-life horror story, the NBC TV movie Death of a Centerfold, portraying Dorothy Stratten, who was brutally killed by her husband. Soon, though, I would be lucky enough to go off and have those great opportunities,” she said.
