James Cameron makes Zoe Saldaña day after big win

Zoe Saldaña has scored a big win after winning a Golden Globes award for Emilia Pérez, and her Avatar director, James Cameron, sent a heartwarming gesture to her.

In a press conference after the award ceremony, the Lioness actress said, “I was sitting in the audience, and I received a message from James Cameron, who’s somewhere in New Zealand right now, cutting ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash.’”

“And he, after all these years, believes in me. So that, to me, nourishes my desire to continue growing as an artist.”

It is not the first time James has made sweet remarks for the Marvel star.

In an interview with Variety, the auteur director said her work as Neytiri in Avatar should be considered for recognition at the Oscars.

“I’ve worked with Academy Award-winning actors, and there’s nothing that Zoe’s doing that’s of a caliber less than that… She can go from regal to, in two nanoseconds, utterly feral. The woman is ferocious. She is a freaking lioness,” he concluded.
