Hollywood’s acclaimed actor, Elba Idris, earlier diagnosed with coronavirus and days after recovering, Elba has launched a new United Nations fund to help farmers in underprivileged nations.
On Monday, 20th April 2020, the actor appealed richer economies to provide funds to prevent hunger & suffering from the coronavirus outbreak.
Idris & his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, who is a famed model & activist extended their support to a fundraiser set up by the International Fund For Agricultural Development (IFAD), to help stop economic shocks caused by coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday, the couple was also appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for IFAD, diagnosed with the killer virus earlier in March although reportedly they suffered from mild symptoms.
The actor said that the world’s advanced economies are amidst this pandemic and they can do everything to help the affectees. But, the fact is, it is a matter of self-interest. He added.
However, In December 2019, Elba & his wife, Sabrina visited rural Sierra Leone, where IFAD provided financial services to communities hit by Ebola.
