Hayley Williams reacts to Doechii’s major achievement
Doechii earns most nominations out of female rappers for 2025 Grammy
Paramore Hayley Williams recently spoke highly of What It Is rapper Doechii, after she earned majority of Grammys nominations.
It all started when Doechii in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald opened up about how Paramore was the “first rock band” she listened to and how its frontwoman Hayley had a “huge impression” on her.
The 26-year-old rapper told the publication, “Paramore was my first introduction to rock music.”
“I know that rock music is popular but where I grew up in the South, in my culture and my radius, it wasn’t so popular,” said Doechii, whose real name is Jaylah Hickmon.
She added, “But she (Hayley) kind of changed my life and my perspective, and I learned about different types of music through Paramore. It made a huge impression on me and my style.”
Now in her response, the 35-year-old singer showered Doechii and shared a screenshot of her comments from the article on her Instagram Stories.
In the Story, Hayley wrote, “This is my laaaadyyyyy. Don’t ever hurt her. We go all the way back even tho we only ever met one time. She better win every Grammy too. (sic)”
For the unversed, Doechii has been nominated for Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal, Best Rap Performance for Nissan Altima and Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammys.
