Geo & 7th Sky Entertainment suspends contract with Khalil-ur-Rehman

On Thursday, 5th March 2020, Geo Entertainment & 7th Sky Entertainment announced that they had suspended their contract with scriptwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar after using offensive language at a woman activist on live television. The contract has been suspended by Geo & 7th Sky Entertainment until the writer apologized.

The writer is working with other television channels as well and is also engaged in a movie project which casts the most on-screen celebrated couple, Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat.

Geo Entertainment aims to focus on promoting a healthy environment and also it promotes the culture to live and let live which means everyone has the right of speech of freedom to share their thoughts. It mainly encourages healthy content with respect.

Furthermore, such debates should be according to the standards and norms of the decency with respect. However, Qamar not just used abusive language against a woman, yet refused to admit his mistake & he didn’t apologize for this.

On Tuesday, 3rd March 2020, the writer appeared on the show alongside Marvi Sarmad- activist. They shared their thoughts on Aurat March 2020. However, their tempers shot just after the duo argued about one slogan- My Body, My Choice.

The writer said, this slogan is nasty and he felt hurt that LHC had thrown out a petition to ban it. While arguing, Marvi asked the writer to explain his thought over this slogan that why it is filthy.

However, after hearing all that, the writer lost his temper and started using abusive language for the interruption.

Later, the politicians, celebrities and other social media users to call him for using offensive language to a woman activist on a live channel.
