Florence Pugh got candid about the hurdles young women face when they join Hollywood.
While declaring that she is not scared of speaking up for herself, the 29-year-old actress in an interview with Reign With Josh Smith podcast said that she joined the industry around the time of the Me Too movement.
According to Pugh, she felt it was important to always stand up for herself.
The actress, who recently starred in We Live in Time along with Andrew Garfield, said, “It’s very hard. It’s exhausting as well. It’s really, really tiring.”
The English actress, who made her acting debut at 18, continued, “Young women in this industry have so much to fight for and to protect and to defend and then to shout about.”
“It’s really, really hard,” said Pugh, who went on to add, “It’s an experience and it does make you claim yourself. It makes you have to figure yourself out.”
While reflecting how she turned out to be throughout these year, the Don’t Worry Darling actress said, “Now I get to just look after myself, I look after my heart and that’s where I am right now.”
“I wouldn’t have changed anything,” Florence Pugh said, before concluding, “I’m really proud of the things that I stood up for.”
