Ellis Marsalis dies of coronavirus complications at the age of 85

On Wednesday, 1st April 2020, an acclaimed American teacher and pianist, Ellis Marsalis died of the coronavirus complications at the age of 85. His son, Branford announced the news of his demise.

The American celebrity, who dedicated several decades over a musical career by giving dozens of records, was the father of saxophonist Branford & trumpeter Wynton.

His son, Branford announced his death news on his website by saying that it is a big loss that my father Ellis Marsalis Jr., has died due to the coronavirus complications. He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, he added.

In a statement, Branford further said that his father was a great teacher and musician, yet even a great father. He was the person who did everything into making us the best of what we could be.
