Drake keeps heating up beef with Kendrick Lamar
Drake team hits back at Spotify as beef with Kendrick Lamar heats up
Drake appears to be not backing down as he continues to take action in his beef with Kendrick Lamar.
His latest move comes through his legal team, which has responded to Spotify’s statement regarding the lawsuit the Grammy winner filed against the company.
The streaming giant denied the Energy hitmaker’s accusations of boosting Kendrick’s Not Like Us through bots in a New York court filing.
“The Petition claims that an unidentified individual reported on a podcast that he used bots to achieve 30,000,000 streams on Spotify in the first days of the release of ‘Not Like Us.’ Spotify found no evidence to substantiate this claim,” the streamer said.
In reply, Variety obtained the statement from the Canadian rap star’s legal consul, who called Spotify to go through a legal process if they had nothing to hide.
“It is not surprising that Spotify is trying to distance themselves from UMG’s allegedly manipulative practices to artificially inflate streaming numbers on behalf of one of its other artists,” the text reads.
It continued, “If Spotify and UMG have nothing to hide, then they should be perfectly fine complying with this basic discovery request.”
