Coleen Nolan breaks silence on ‘taboo’ health condition
‘The Loose Women’ star shares emotional toll of a health issue that has worsened over time
A famous English singer, television personality, and author, Coleen Nolan, has revealed a deeply personal and “taboo” health issue that has been affecting her for decades.
According to Daily Mail, the 59-year-old star shared that she has dealt with bladder leakage since she was in her early 20s, after having her first child at 23.
Articulating her thoughts, she quipped, “I love the fact I don’t feel alone” with this issue, as she and her Loose Women co-stars talk about bladder control backstage.
Nolan stated, “We have talked about it among ourselves. We’ll say, ‘Oh my God, I wet myself at that yesterday’ or ‘I nearly wet myself today laughing at that topic’ After the show when we are back in our dressing rooms, we talk about it, doing our debrief. I love the fact that you don’t have to feel alone with it.”
The Chemistry hitmaker, who is an ambassador for Always Discreet, mentioned that the leakage has gotten worse over the years, especially when she sneezes, laughs, or coughs.
‘My bladder issues were from having my first child really. When you are younger, and they are going on at you about doing your pelvic floor exercises, you say ‘yeah, whatever’. I’d do them, but not regularly, and then three children later you think ‘Maybe I should have done them when I was told,’” she concluded.
It is pertinent to mention that Coleen Nolan is the mother of three children; she shares the 36-year-old Shane and 32-year-old Jane with EastEnders star Shane Richie.
While her third child, the 23-year-old Ciara, is from her marriage to Ray Fensome, a guitarist.
