Brendan Fraser unexpectedly drops out of major production
Brendan Fraser reportedly had to ‘step away’ from the show for unexplained reasons
Brendan Fraser, a veteran actor, had to “step away” from his upcoming show due to reasons that were left unexplained.
It was revealed that he would no longer be appearing in the Off-Broadway production of Grangeville by famed director Samuel D. Hunter.
Signature Theatre added on their Instagram, “We are excited to announce Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire, Lost on a Mountain in Maine) has joined Brian J. Smith as a member of the Grangeville cast, replacing Brendan Fraser, who has had to step away due to unforeseen circumstances.”
They continued, “You might have seen Paul Sparks at Signature in Edward Albee’s At Home at the Zoo back in 2018, and we can’t wait to welcome him back to the Center.”
The post included a shot of Sparks as he stares directly the camera, wearing an all black outfit.
It was accompanied from a few lines by Emily Shooltz, the Artistic Director, as she called Sparks “one of the very best actors of his generation”.
She concluded that “we are truly lucky and grateful” to have the star be a part of the production as Brendan Fraser’s replacement.
