Bob Dylan’s role in shaping his biopic revealed
Bob Dylan played significant role in shaping his story in ‘A Complete Unknown’
Bob Dylan worked very closely with director James Mangold for his upcoming biopic, A Complete Unknown, starring Timothee Chalamet.
The iconic musician ensured that the script stayed true to his life, according to producer Peter Jaysen.
Speaking on The Town Podcast, Jaysen shared, “At one point they sat there and they read the entire script out loud, with Jim [Mangold], reading every part and stage direction, and Bob Dylan only reading lines of dialogue for himself.”
Jaysen also shared that the sessions were more than just a simple review, Dylan made notes on the script and shared his thoughts.
“Through that process, [Bob] sat there writing notes on the script. At the end of the last session with Jim, he signed the script and said, ‘Go with God,'” he revealed further.
Since Chalamet plays the role of Dylan in the biopic, he opened up about his preparation to fully embody the music legend.
He told Rolling Stone, “No visitors, no friends, no reps, no nothing. It sounds pretentious but panic fueled me.”
“I didn’t want to lose a moment of discovery as the character because of my phone or any distraction, so while I was in it, that was my eternal focus,” he added.
