Billie Eilish has recently opened up about the challenges that she faced after becoming famous at a young age.

In a recent episode of Fresh Air podcast, the Lovely singer candidly talked about her feeling of loneliness while growing up.

“And so for those few years of becoming this, like enormous superstar, I was kind of feeling like, ‘Wait, what the hell is the point?” she began by saying.

The nine-times Grammy award winner received public attention at the age of 14 for her song Ocean Eyes from her album Don’t Smile At Me in 2015.

At the time, Eilish recalled when she and her brother, Finneas, were homeschooled, gradually she lost her friends as she had no way of relating to them and continued, “I don’t have any friends and I’m losing all the things that I love so deeply and all the people that I love.’”

Moreover, the 23-year-old singer mentioned the love that she received from her fans of her same age and said, “So in a way, the fans kind of saved me in that way”

“Because they were my age and I felt like they were the only kind of friends I had for a while. Even though it was a lot for a young brain and body to deal with, in a way.”

“The fact that I was a teenager and they were also teenagers, somehow felt less kind of, I don’t know. I think I just felt so connected to them because we were all the same age,” she added before signing off.
