Bill Gates awarded Hilal-E-Pakistan by President Arif Alvi during his visit to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi awarded the Hilal-E-Pakistan to Bill Gates on Thursday during his visit to Pakistan.

According to the reports, Bill Gates, the co-founder of the Microsoft company was honored with the Hilal-E-Pakistan award during a special ceremony held at Aiwan-E-Sadr in Islamabad today.

In the presence of federal ministers, senior government officials, and members of the diplomatic corps Bill Gates was awarded. Hilal-E-Pakistan is the 2nd highest civilian honor in Pakistan.

His charity organization,  Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is playing an important role in the elimination of polio in Pakistan as well as supporting the financial system through various interventions.

Earlier today, Gates was briefed about the ongoing pandemic situation in Pakistan. He met with Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi on his first-ever visit to Pakistan, discussed matters related to polio eradication and other important issues.

Bill Gates made sure that his foundation will continue its cooperation with Pakistan.
