Aubrey Plaza meant to present at Golden Globes before husband’s suicide
Aubrey Plaza was on a list of dozens of presenters, scheduled to be aired live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel
American actress Aubrey Plaza was set to present at the Golden Globes before news broke of the tragic death of her husband, Jeff Baena.
She was on a list of dozens of presenters for the night, scheduled to be aired live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday.
Jeff Baena tragically passed away on Thursday through suicide, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office. Reports claimed that the director had been found unresponsive at his office by his assistant.
After being called to the location, authorities reportedly announced him dead at the scene.
The couple had been together since 2010, and Plaza previously revealed that they had officially gotten married in 2020.
She admitted that the idea of getting married during the Covid-19 pandemic had been Baena’s, although shared jokingly.
The family was described as “devastated” at the sudden loss.
The actress only has one public post about Jeff Baena, which is the one where she announced their marriage and called him her “darling husband”.
It is unconfirmed if Aubrey Plaza will make an appearance at the event and has refused to comment so far.
