Angelina Jolie shares why she was ‘terrified’ to play Maria Callas
Angelina Jolie got candid about rediscovering herself in the process of making flick, ‘Maria’
Angelina Jolie recently weighed in on the time when she had not finalized her divorce with Brad Pitt.
Recalling this time, the A-listed actress told Time Radio that her “light was dimmed” by troubles of the past.
The actress began, “I think you’re an artist, and you go through different things in life.”
She continued to express that through these phases “you wonder if certain parts of you have shut down, or who you are, what you have inside of you.”
“And if your lights dimmed, and if you have less to contribute, or if you don’t know your yourself, and so to push and rediscover things and try for things that I hadn’t ever tried,” said the Oscar-winning star.
Nonetheless, the actress claimed that after playing the role of Maria Callas she was forced to look inside as she wanted to do the role justice.
“And what a gift as an artist, to be pushed again at this time in my life, to do something that terrified me and I wasn’t sure I could do is the greatest gift,” they remarked in conclusion.
