Amy Schumer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Paul Feig speak out after Blake Lively’s lawsuit

Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Schumer, and Paul Feig have rallied behind Blake Lively, voicing their support in the wake of her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.

As per Deadline, on now-deleted Instagram Stories, Paltrow showed her support by adding Lively’s Blake Brown haircare line to her Christmas wish list.

She shared the post the same day the lawsuit became public and included a queen emoji.

In addition, the same outlet reported that Schumer also took to her now-deleted Instagram Stories and wrote, “I believe Blake.”

Notably, this support was notable because Schumer had previously roasted Lively on her show Inside Amy Schumer and later said, “We’re not close friends.”

Moreover, Feig, who directed Lively in A Simple Favour and its sequel, showed his support for her.

He took to X and scribbled, “All I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind people I’ve ever worked with. She truly did not deserve any of this smear campaign against her. I think it’s awful she was put through this.”

Other than these celebrities, her co-stars from The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn, also issued a joint statement to show her support, per the same outlet.

The statement read, “Throughout the filming of ‘It Ends with Us,’ we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice.”

For the unversed, Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends with Us co-star and director, Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and a subsequent smear campaign intended to tarnish her reputation.

The 37-year-old actress’s legal complaint, submitted to the California Civil Rights Department, in which she detailed instances of alleged misconduct during the film’s production.

She accused Baldoni of improvising unwanted kissing scenes and creating a hostile work environment through inappropriate sexual comments and boundary violations.

Furthermore, Lively claimed that after she raised concerns, the 40-year-old actor, along with producer Jamey Heath, orchestrated efforts to discredit her, causing severe emotional distress to her and her family.

In response to these allegations, Baldoni’s talent agency, WME, has dropped him as a client.

However, Baldoni has denied the accusations, with his legal team labelling them as “false and outrageous.”

It is pertinent to mention that Colleen Hoover, author of the novel on which the film is based, also voiced her support for Lively, stating, “Never wilt.”
