Adrien Brody has clarified rumors that he’s banned from Saturday Night Live.

Brody, who took home the Best Actor award at the 2025 Golden Globes for his performance in The Brutalist, hosted an episode of SNL in 2003 after starring in The Pianist.

The episode became controversial because Brody wore a dreadlock wig and spoke in a Jamaican accent to introduce Jamaican musician Sean Paul.

Since then, there have been rumors that the actor is banned from the show.

In a new interview with Vulture, the Oscar winner debunked the rumor, but noted: “But I also have never been invited back on. So I don’t know what to tell you.”

He revealed that the bit was his idea, saying, “They were all literally agape from me pitching,” he explained

He added: “I think Lorne [Michaels, SNL creator] wasn’t happy with me embellishing a bit, but they allowed me to.”

Brody’s Golden Globes win came 23 years after he won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Pianist.

Reflecting on his big win and the ups and downs of his career, Adrien Brody told Us Weekly backstage: “It’s been many years, it’s been decades, and I’ve had a long life and career and a lot of peaks and a lot of valleys. It’s given me perspective. It’s given me great appreciation for this moment.”
