Andrew Garfield talks getting upstaged by ‘We Live in Time’ horse meme

Andrew Garfield is looking back at the famous horse meme that came to be through the We Live in Time poster.

Garfield appeared on The Graham Norton Show to promote We Live in Time, where he stars opposite Florence Pugh. He was joined on the red couch by Timothee Chalamet, James Corden and more guests.

During the interview, Norton brought up the horse featuring poster and asked the actor how it felt to be upstaged.

“Is it a poster or is it a f**k up?” the Hacksaw Ridge actor joked.

The Amazing Spider-Man then recalled seeing the poster for the first time. He saw the poster right before entering a six-day retreat from technology and found the poster while “doom scrolling last minute to get my fix.”

Seeing the funny-looking horse in the front of the image, he wondered how it got past “all the approvals.”

He brushed aside the thought, thinking “maybe I’m being hypersensitive,” adding, “I’m a hypersensitive, hypervigilant person.”

After his six-day retreat, the Silence star returned to social media to find all kinds of memes where the horse was present in “every single great pop culture moment.”

Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh’s We Live in Time will hit theaters on January 1, 2025.
