Pete Davidson not proud of his first major fashion purchase
Pete Davidson reveals his first major fashion purchase
Pete Davidson remembers working more to pay off his first major fashion purchase, which was a pair of Gucci shoes.
The Saturday Night Live alum, 31, took a trip down memory lane during a December 12 interview with W Magazine, reflecting on his $875 Gucci shoes.
The comedian had earned a nearly $1K compensation working on an MTV show at age 19, which he then splurged on the designer shoes.
“I didn’t know about taxes or paying your team or anything,” he told the outlet.
“I still have them,” Davidson revealed. “They’re sitting in my closet, a reminder of how stupid I was. When I was 19, it was all about the ’fit — that was all that mattered. Now it’s health, family, humility, being a good person, not being a drug addict. Stuff like that.” he maintained.
This wasn’t the only paycheck he spent impulsively. Davidson revealed earlier this month that he spent his first SNL paycheck–his “three grands” earning–on buying dinner, per New York Magazine. Luckily, he stayed on board with SNL from 2014-2022.
Davidson, who has become synonymous with his streetwear-inspired ensembles, also expressed relief at his reawakening in terms of fashion.
“If you Google any picture of me from ages 20 to 27, it’s purple shirts, fedoras, all these chains, and f****** dumb Rolexes. It doesn’t look cool at all. But I’m very fortunate that I’m 31 now. Looking back. I’m lucky that I finally woke up,” he added in the recent W Magazine interview.
