Prince Andrew’s Royal Christmas in jeopardy following new scandal
Prince Andrew expected to celebrate Christmas away from Royal family amid new scandal
Prince Andrew may have to change his Christmas plans as royal expert claims the “disgraced” Duke of York should not be with the Royal family at Sandringham.
According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Andrew may choose to opt out of the Christmas celebrations as following his alleged involvement in a Chinese spy scandal.
Andrew is set to join King Charles and the rest of the Royal family members for their traditional Christmas Day walk to St Mary Magdalene Church, but Bond suggested that his attendance is now in doubt.
“It’s hard to imagine the duke will have the gall to parade himself before the loyal crowds at Christmas,” the expert told The Mirror.
“For the sake of the monarchy, he should spend it away from Sandringham, out of the public eye,” she added.
“The monarch’s brother has become a recurring embarrassment to the Royal Family and now he’s involved in a possible threat to national security.”
This comes after Andrew’s office denied any wrongdoing, stating that he has “ceased all contact” with the businessman at the center of the scandal.
“The Duke of York followed advice from His Majesty’s Government and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised,” their official announcement read.
“The duke met the individual through official channels, with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed,” it added. “He is unable to comment further on matters relating to national security.”
