Meghan Markle’s cookery show her last shot at saving Netflix deal?
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Netflix documentary series ‘POLO’ receives limited promotion
Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent five-part series has reportedly received harsh reviews and limited promotion from Netflix.
The documentary series POLO, executive produced by both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has been described as “tedious” and “tacky,” according to a report by MailOnline.
Now, since the documentary about Harry’s love for polo failed to capture significant attention and with the couple’s 100 million dollars deal with Netflix ending in 2025, the focus is now towards Meghan’s upcoming cookery show and her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
An insider told Alison Boshoff that now it is seen as a “make or break” opportunity for the couple. She further quotes the insider, “People say Netflix are exhausted. It’s so much work with her and, bluntly, the “deliverable” does not seem to be worth it.”
While another source added, “Her show will have to be an enormous hit to turn around their deal and their reputations in this town.”
It is worth mentioning that the upcoming show is expected to reflect Meghan’s sophisticated style, but it faces comparisons to Joanna Gaines’ hugely popular cookery series, which could work against her.
