Thomas Markle finally opens up about Meghan Markle’s first marriage
Following two years of marriage, Meghan Markle and Trevor divorced in August 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”
Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle has finally opened up about the duchess first marriage.
Meghan and Trevor Engelson, a film producer and actor, met in 2004 and got married on September 10, 2011, in a private ceremony in Jamaica.
After two years of their marriage, Meghan and Trevor divorced in August 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle also spoke about the Duchess’ first husband, Trevor Engelson, who he said he “really liked”.
Thomas claimed he didn’t think Trevor “ever understood” why Meghan ended the marriage.
Meanwhile, Thomas has also revealed he is quitting America – and fears he will never meet his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
Thomas plans to relocate this year to spend his time with “kinder people”, possibly in South East Asia with his son and Meghan’s half brother, Thomas Jr, who he has a good relationship with.
He said, “it’s time to move on” and “enjoy the time I have left” somewhere that offers “peace”.
