King Charles continues to receive praise over heartwarming Christmas speech
King Charles emphasized on showing humility and resilience in the face of personal challenges in his speech
King Charles is still getting praised over his heartwarming speech on Christmas Day in which he shed light upon the importance of showing humility and resilience in the face of personal challenges.
The monarch showed gratitude to medical workers who helped him and Kate, the Princess of Wales, during their respective cancer battles in his annual speech.
Without explicitly discussing his illness, Charles talked of anxieties and uncertainties, and highlighted community pride in the UK following summer riots.
Sharing two cents on Charles’ speech, Royal biographer Hugo Vickers said, “I mean, Christmas Day is meant to be a happy day. We’re meant to be positive we’re meant to be looking forward. I think he got it just right.”
“He didn’t specifically talk about the actual nature of illness and things like that at all he talked about, you know the anxieties and the uncertainties, and I think that covered the point very effectively,” he told The Sun.
“I think the main thing to be quite honest was wasn’t it nice to be able to see him there, you know, looking positive.”
Charles also talked of the power of “repairing” and “listening” with Vickers claiming that it sends across a “very positive message” and one of “hope.”
“On Christmas Day people will pause in the middle of their celebrations to watch him. They’ll want to get a positive message and I think they’ll come away with one.”
