Adrienne Maloof has opened up about her emotional challenges of becoming an empty nester.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum told PEOPLE magazine about her experience of living alone now that her kids have grown up and moved out of the house.

“My oldest is 21 [and Gavin is] in the industry. And then I have twins [Colin and Christian] that are 18. So yeah, I have three boys, and they’re … all like adults now. It’s sad. I am empty nesting, and it’s really hard,” she told the outlet.

Although Maloof’s children Gavin, 21, and twins Colin and Christian, 18 visited for Christmas, she admitted it wasn’t enough, saying, “It’s never enough for moms.”

“I like excitement. I like laughter. My kids bringing their friends over always ready to feed them. I miss that. I really do,” she added further.

Despite the sadness, she remains focused on the future, saying, “I’ve learned that I got to get on to the next chapter in my life.”

“And I’ve got some great projects coming up. So I’m blessed for that,” Maloof added.
