‘Squid Game’ creator spills details about season 3: ‘Most exciting’
‘Squid Game’ season 3 is scheduled to be released in 2025
Hwang Dong-hyuk has given his approval to the Squid Game’s finale as he spoke about it recently.
In a chat with EW, the screenwriter, director and producer candidly talked about the deadly games that he planned for season 3 of the hit show.
Reflecting upon a motion-detecting giant doll, Cheol-su, from the series, he began, “That’s actually a [sneak peek] of Cheol-su, who, like Young-hee, is a new giant doll that we’re going to be showcasing in season 3.”
Keeping details under wraps, Dong-hyuk continued, “And that’s also a hint at the most exciting game in season 3 as well. So, while it hasn’t been shared yet, I hope everyone will be excited to meet Cheol-su and the new game.”
Season 2 of the series, which aired on December 26, stars Lee Jung-jae, who played Gi-hun player 456, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon and Jo Yu-ri.
Previously, he discussed the story of season 3 with Variety, saying, “As for the storyline of the third season, Gi-hun having lost everything, including his best friend, and all of his attempts going to failure, it’s now, what is he going to be like?”
“What state is Gi-hun going to be in? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue on with the mission? Is he going to give up or persist?”
“And so you’re going to meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will not be the man he was in Season 2,” Dong-hyuk concluded.
Squid Game season 3 is scheduled to be released in 2025.
