King Charles outworks Prince William despite cancer
King Charles and Prince William’s number of work days this year have been revealed
King Charles apparently didn’t take a real step back from work despite suffering from cancer this year.
According to Radar Online, cancer-stricken King Charles took official engagements on 118 days this year, while his son and heir Prince William worked 71 days.
The workaholic King reportedly ignored his doctors’ advice against taking the Australia and Samoa tour.
An insider told the publication: “Charles wanted to show he’s still able to fulfill his duties, but it was painfully obvious he wasn’t well.”
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales took days off to support his wife Princess Kate through her cancer treatment this year.
Kate was away from the public eye for months at the beginning of this year. Kensington Palace informed the public that she would return to public facing duties after Easter. However, due to rumors about her health and growing public concern, she addressed her fans via a video message in March and shared her cancer diagnosis.
She resumed public facing duties last month when she welcomed the Emir of Qatar and his wife on a state visit alongside Prince William and King Charles.
Meanwhile, King Charles’ Christmas broadcast this year will differ greatly from the past as he’s chosen Fitzrovia Chapel in London as the venue instead of the palace.
