Mariah Carey breaks record after record
‘Billboard’ announces Mariah Carey’s achievement on social media
Mariah Carey had a record on the Billboard Hot 100 for her track One Sweet Day, which was at the top for 16 weeks in 1995-96.
Now, she has broken that record.
Unexpectedly, the Grammy winner’s song that surpassed her previous milestone is All I Want For Christmas is You.
Billboard, in a post on Instagram, announced that the all-time Christmas special had reached the Hot 100 for a record-breaking 17th total week.
Debuted in 1994, Mariah’s song quickly gelled in with the festive season. This, in return, made the track to climb up ahead of the Christmas.
The magazine also shared that the song is at No.1 spot during the current holiday season, which for the first time appeared at the top in 2017.
The Fantasy hitmaker reacted to the announcement on social media, saying, “This is amazing!!!! Will never ever ever ever ever take this for granted,” adding “Merry early Christmas!!!!”
Mariah capped off the achievement after concluding her hit Christmas Tour on Dec. 17.
